Re: Clamping a premolded stem
Greetings, Learned how to make this from Paul Perri: http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/PipeMakingTools003.jpg http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/PipeMakingTools004.jpg http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/PeterADallSrPipe001.jpg Bar stock aluminum, mach...
Re: "E" pipes
I feel about "E" cigs, cigars and pipes the same way I feel about electric cars and motorcycles: NOT interested and NEVER will be interested. Ever. I love internal combustion when it comes to my pipe or motor vehicle, especially motorcycles. I guess I'm just old school. Or just old. CACooper

Re: Couple of new ones - and my first F grade pipe!
Been smokin' the "F" pipe for a couple of weeks now and it smokes pretty darn good! It is a tortured soul, though. I ended up dropping it and SNAP went the tenon!. Unfazed, I fitted it with a Delrin tenon so that won't happen again. Now I really don't have to worry about damaging it and be...

Re: Couple of new ones - and my first F grade pipe!
I did try to fill the holes, but the one on the bottom was too big, even for rustication. So I just ignored them, finishing the pipe smooth and let the flaws show in all their glory. I figured with so many holes and cracks in it, the first dent won't matter. It will make a good shop or yard pipe. No...

Couple of new ones - and my first F grade pipe!
Greetings all, Recently finished a few. Saddle stem Bulldog w/ faux horn trim. The horn is a new acrylic from PME. Pretty convincing and doesn't shrink and split over time: http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/CooperPipeCP-29002.jpg Next is a long shank Dublin w/ faux "briar"...

Greetings, Living in the Denver, Colorado area, winters are "mild" (compared to Minot, ND I guess), but it does get very cold at night. My workshop is an insulated, single stall garage, about 12ft. X 20ft. with a 10 ft. ceiling. http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/BillColeP...

Re: New one from Cooper Pipes CP-27
Thanks for your comments! Yeah, the photo came out a little too red. It's actually quite a bit darker. Still red, though. The lack of comments may be the result of my chiming in on the "Che" dedicated pipe on another thread. A snub? I dunno. I hope not. :( The last thing I want to do is ti...

New one from Cooper Pipes CP-27
Greetings all, This one languished on the bench for several months. Finally finished it. The "horn" trim is a new acrylic rod from PME. It's kind of soft compared to lucite, but is a fair representation of the real thing. No, and I'm NOT dedicating it to anyone. http://i582.photobuc...

Re: Rhodesian "Che"
Oh, I forgot. Blame America first. Got it. I stand corrected. I'm starting work on my Klu Klux Klan commemorative set of pipes. Hey, the Klan had some great ideas in the beginning. Then they got a bad rep. Depends on your point of view or who is writing the history, eh? Good day gents. Keep makin' t...

Re: Rhodesian "Che"
Question: Very nice pipe, but why on earth would you want to "dedicate" it to a murderous monster like Che Guevara? Might as well dedicate a pipe to Adolf Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot, etc. Seriously, read up on history. Here's an interesting bio to get you started: http://www.s...

Greetings, Something like this, perhaps? http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss264/cacooper9/TheBlandingsCollection002.jpg I use 1 inch thick blue insulation foam (available at Lowe's), traced the pipes where I wanted them, then cut the foam with a Woodland Scenics hot wire foam cutter (available at ...

Greetings all, I'm booked and am assigned table 62. My dad and I are driving out from Denver Friday. About 12 or so hours. I'd rather drive than fly. No TSA peeping or groping. :filth-n-foul: Plus, I can smoke on the way! A win-win. See you all there! Craig A. Cooper Cooper Pipes http://ww...

Hi Kim, I'm driving out from Denver on Friday. I'm assigned table 62. Please stop by for a chat. Looking forward to meeting you. I'll try to get around to other tables, as this trip is more of a meet 'n greet for me. I've been to several shows in the past, but this is the first time as an exibitor. ...
Re: No. 9
Greetings, I drove from Denver to Phoenix last week (900 miles, 16 hrs - whew!). While there, I stopped by Ye Olde Pipe and Tobacco Shoppe and met Mr. Markle. He brought this pipe with him. I was able to hold this pipe in my hands and inspect it closely. I must say, it's beautiful! The bamboo shank ...
