A French wheel and a polishing machine can be run on an old electric drill... one you’re not going to use again because this will ruin your bearings. The drawing itself looks good. regarding the airway: I've seen you're drilling that at 4mm, then taper it in the stem to 1.5mm. maybe someone else can comment on that, but I'd prefer 3mm or 3.5mm. the reason is: if your tenon is 8mm, drilling through tere with a 4mm bit will make it too weak. Squaring a block on a disc sander isn't perfect.
if our block isn't absolutely square, the airway is bound to be a little off to the side.
and just a little off is enough to mess up the alignment.
