Re: pipe in the hat trade?
Got your PM, I am sorry I didn't respond. My post in this thread wasn't really a 'yes' and I think it was misinterpreted. I just said "what if I get attached to it?" I never said that I was definitely in. I have been extremely busy since then, and this is pretty much the first time i've vi...

No Workshop- whats the best way?
I am in a bit of a predicament, I have absolutely no place to build a pipe! I have only made one pipe so far, but I really enjoyed it and feel like it would be a good hobby for me when I have the time. Unfortunately, I am living in a 2 room apartment right now with no garage or anything. I don't hav...

Re: Pipe and Tobacco Shows in the Southeast?
I know this is an old thread, but there are a few events coming up that I found. There is one in Raleigh on April 14th, 2012.

Re: My First Pipe- Osage Orange
I dont know just why we call them horse apples. We had horses, and I never saw them eat one of those stinking things. I've heard that livestock will eat the fruit when theres nothing else around, but I've also heard they're poisonous in large quantity. Another thing about Bois D'arc, the reason the...

Re: My First Pipe- Osage Orange
Does that wood seem heat resistant? Yea, it seems really heat resistant. I figured it would, because it is an extremely hard wood. It only gets slightly warm in my hand while smoking, though I have been taking it easy during the break in. Thanks for the insight, I am really hoping to try my hand at...

My First Pipe- Osage Orange
Hey everyone, Here are some pics of my first ever pipe. I made this using Osage Orange because it was the best material I had available, and I really like the orange color. I made this using 95% hand tools, so there are some things that are a bit crooked, haha. The stem of the pipe was my grandfathe...
