I have exactly the same Axeminster model! It is great!
You can put a dimmer between the on/off switch for lower speed!
And you can find belts in any grid you want but be careful to be soft the opposite side of the belt for not burning your fingers!

I think that you must not do it smaller!
I think that you could make it at 2cm long.
You can print out, on paper, your logo in two or three different sizes and then you can put them on your pipes and you could see how they look, so you can choose the better size.
