You guys are exactly right! By the way, in France, they call those either «champignons», mushrooms, or «plaques à polir» meaning polishing pads. mine is a Rockwell Beaver 3400, a nice lathe for sure, strong as hell, but for sure there might be better options, but for my money, it was a no brainer!

Good to know, I have been reading about the Delrin tenons, and like that idea, I very well may start that way!
