Re: Make you own Cavendish
Yes, it's great. I tried it with Maryland 609 and Burley TN90. The folks on the forum give it two thumbs up also. It's really mild and great for blending with a stronger tobacco.

Re: GP02 2nd pipe, 1st rustication
I really like this pipe. I think sitters are cool for one thing and I think you did a good job on your first rustication. Overall very nice and a fantastic second pipe. The way you plowed on in spite of the problems says alot about your tenacity. I'm looking forward to your next one.

Are you going to run air lines in your whole shop? I can help you lay out the proper way to practically eliminate moisture in the lines. i worked 20 years in a body shop and there are some definate "rules" very few people bother with or don't consider or don't know about. It's all in how y...

Re: Shaping the bend in the shank
I start by cutting the upper and lower lines of the shank on the bandsaw, a little oversize. If these lines curve, I cut following the curves, but oversize. Then I do all my drilling and turn as much of the bowl as possible. Then I cut the sides of the shank on the bandsaw, oversize. If the shank ta...

Re: Cutting oval chamber for vestpocket pipe
I have no clue on how it is done on pipes, but in a turkey box call the long oval is done with Forstner bits and the walls are cleaned up with chisels. It should work the same on an oval in a pipe bowl. Drill 2 overlapping holes, and chisel out the side wall. As to the bottom of the bowl, I would u...

Nice pipes. I especially like the brandy at the top. Seriously though, these are some beautiful classical shapes. You've clearly refined your chops to be able to create excellent classics. My hat's off to you! LOL That one got past me also. I just finished rereading that thread. Good one Uber...

Re: A Tale of Two Pipes by What T. Dickens
A buddy from Slovenia I know from www.fairtradetobacco.com sent me two blocks of olive wood and a genuine USSR Ushanka hat to make him a pipe like my briar pipe. I wanted to present it to him in a different way, so I posted the above story on the tobacco forum. He really got a big kick out of it so ...
