Sorry guys for my long absence. During last couple of weeks time is a luxury good for me.
Self critique:
- Shank is too fat
- Slot is rather gigantic. It wasn't my intention to make it that way
- As I'm looking at the photos right now, I would have left the outer edge of the rim sharp instead of rounding it
Have a nice evening, folks.

Re: #15 Longshanked Dublin
I actually like your rounded rim. And the shape is nice too. Just a hint of too much removed on the top of the shank by the bowl. The stem needs some work. I would have made it just a little bit longer. It looks rather thick on the bite zone, and the button looks fairly thick as well. And I think it would look better if the transition of saddle to the bite zone were tighter.
Aside from that, it's a nice pipe.

I like your photos. The reflection is a nice touch.

I think the edge is fine.
If the shank was tapered and the stem longer, it would have made this pipe pop.

Nice pipe. I agree with Jeremiah and Charl, but still nice.

I also think the subtle rounding of the outside of the rim looks good. The biggest thing that I see is that your shank doesn't taper at all. It's concentric from bowl to stem. This creates the optical illusion of a slight reversed taper. This is especially true for longer shanked pipes.

Thank you guys. Your comments are spot-on.
I finished a new pipe today. I have tried to stick to all your tips.

Thanks. It's fairly easy to achieve. All you need is a large tile.benniesam wrote:I like your photos. The reflection is a nice touch.
I'm too lazy to use a light tent

That is cool. I have a small tent and it works well but actually it sometimes defuses the light too much and the sheen of the pipe appears to be satin instead of gloss. defused looks really good for blasts.Jakub P. wrote:Thanks.
