Wow...nice man. My only critique is that you should really have done something about that one side not having that sweet bird's eye like the other, Really nice looking pipe.

That is an absolutely fantastic pipe. The bird's eye looks like really awesome small tree roots running throughout the pipe. What a lovely stain. Can I inquire as to your methods?
There is nothing like being left alone again, to walk peacefully with oneself in the woods. To boil one's coffee and fill one's pipe, and to think idly and slowly as one does it.
Sorringowl, yes I hand cut this stem, 80% of my stem I hand cut.
BariaWorldNick. - here is the methods I use on this pipe.
The colours of stains is
1. Sanding to 320 grid
2. Two time tannins, dry to the day after.
3. Two time vinegar mix with steel wool, after I waiting two or three days.
4. Soft buffing with tripoli.
5. Light colour, if use very clear yellow be careful this can make green,
Just mix a little bit red or orange in the yellow, and this will be fine.
I use normal leather dye.
5. Carnaubu wax.
