I identified a rather nice bent briar pipe by the shank stampings as being a P. Mercier brand. While i have been able to identify the brand based on the markings (thanks pipedia and others!), i have not been able to find out much about this company other than that they are French.
Anyone know anything more?
Thanks in advance.

P. Mercier pipes??

Re: P. Mercier pipes??
Hi bornagainbriar,
Was the stamp showing "PM", or "P. M."?
As I know a bit about French pipes, I can tell you P. Mercier stands for Pierre Mercier; he was a wholesaler in all things related to pipes and established in Paris. Thus, not a pipe maker.
If the stamp says PM, you very most likely put your hands on a Pierre Morel Snr.
