Yes, I could have guessed that just as easily ! The condition of the wood speaks of great age. Well, there is actually quite some pieces of old lumber laying in a corner. I think it was used on the outside of the building because it has all these ornametal carvings and a bit of paint (a common way to adorn the facades). I did think about maybe trying to use that wood for instrument making but as I remember the pieces, they where pretty cracked and in a very bad state.Alden wrote: Yes, I could have guessed that just as easily ! Man what I would give for some of that lumber ! Just a bit from the sections that have been replaced. If you find a loose piece hiding in a corner somewhere, you should consider turning a bit for shank adornments. And if you find two pieces, remember your friend here in Texas. I'll gladly pay shipping
