Hi All,
I recently upped to a metal lathe and found the lathe video in this series (Machine Shop eight) to be well worth my time, since I had no clue. So much so that I went and watched the entire series. Machine Shop 1 doesn't relate directly to pipes but there is much good to he had in the rest of the series - e.g. standing properly when using the bandsaw.

Well, Since I am posting, yeah, its been a long time since I've posted, been busy. Still keeping my hobbyist pace of about a pipe every 2 weeks or so, and have been playing a lot with the new lathe. Have shaped with the compound, did an etch-a-sketch, made a tool rest and shaped ala wood lathe, etc, fun. Have an upcoming commission with an oval shank so this weekend I will be playing with using an independent 2 jaw chuck to offset each way... worked on a sledgehammer handle sized spindle so will try it on a pipe (then prolly end up just doing it by hand, lol)
Hope someone else ejoys the vids.
Cheers all,
Billiard
