So being new to pipe tobacco and all what would you recommend for an english blend?

again thanks for the help...i am leaving work today and may stop in at the local tobacco shop and test out some diffent blends. I don't have a pipe as I waiting on my pimo kit...so i may end up buying like a $30 pipe.
