You are correct, sir.

Twice!? That's gonna be a tiny cavalier. I'm excited to see it!
Like I said: I'm making a tiny cavalier :-P

Still hope I get it finished as I won't be home until friday, so no working on it this week...

I'M DONE !!!

Wasn't sure if I could squeeze one in, but I did !!
I was inspired by the pic below, and always wanted to do my take on it. I didn't like the flow of the stem, so I went with a straight on mine and my bowl cants forward a little bit.

Image

My pics below don't do the pipe justice, the lighter parts of the grain are actually redder than in pic and the darker parts are actually blacker and more defined than the pic shows. Not sure why the color is 4 shades off in the pics, oh well.

heigth - 5" standing, 6" long tip to tip
width - 2 3/8"
stem - 11/16" x 2 7/8" ebonite (delrin tenon)
bottom plug - 15/16" wide x 11/16" tall (long) (delrin tenon)
bowl - 11/16" x 1 1/2" deep (conical bowl)
weight - 2.6 oz.

I think I just wet myself... That is one of the most beautiful pipes I've ever seen! Absolutely jawdropping!
I really like how you took the cavalier design and still kind of made it into a straight pipe.

As to your pictures: they're pretty darn good, the only thing I can think of is a bad white balance setting or - more likely - too much flash? Try swapping the flash from first to second curtain or vise versa and toy around with the shutter speed accordingly...

Geeeeeeeeeeez!!!!!! That's freakin' gorgeous.

Edit: I'm stunned by the drilling. Mine is not center and I'm a little embarrassed about it.
Not only is yours dead center, but there's only one hole in the bottom of the chamber! Did you connect the lower hole to the main airway?

All the lines meet just right (not too shabby for no lathe)

I can't photoshop worth a crap, but here's a pic to show the lines

'Cause if you're an idiot like me you drill a hole on either side of the chamber instead of having them meet together like that.

Please forgive this extremely crude approximation.

Lol! Of course I did. I don't have the tools to drill a hole straight through a block this size like the image shows, so I figured out a solution that seemed like it would still work. It does work, it just isn't as elegant. I also drilled this in October right after the shape was announced before I started free hand drilling. If I had drilled it now, I would have attempted to freehand drill the pipe instead of chucking it up in my 3 jaw. :?

If you look at VF's drilling, ours is based on the same idea: drilling to the chamber from both ends instead of drilling straight through then drilling down to connect. His solution and execution of the drilling is a lot more elegant though.

Thanks guys. Now that I look at the pipe again I see that the shank needs some attention on both ends. I'm going to tighten them up with a file and then Refinish.
