Not sure if I quite get what a bent prince is? A prince can be straight or just slightly bent on the stem and overall design from what I have seen in the English Classics.
Lol, that's why I voted for the straight prince.

Sitters would be really cool, but I have a hell of a time getting my pipes to sit right.
If we do this I would love to see a thread about to get your pipe to sit.
(That is if any of the pros would be willing to share some of their secrets.

)
I'm quite partial to lead. Works every time.

After I suggested a straight OR bent prince, I spent the rest of the night puzzling over how exactly you'd make a prince with a bent shank.... still struggling

I'm down to try a prince. It's been on my list to try for a while.

It's beginning to look like the prince will be a winner. And hey- Premal and Nate both in on the trade?! Sweet!

I just finished one, pay attention to the length of shank compared to the size of the bowl and stem I think the one I made could have used a little bit more length on the stem

If it's a prince, I'm game. I've been wanting to try this shape too. I'm told it's one of the hardest to execute correctly with very little margin for error.

Princes are extremely difficult to get right because there are so many subtleties.
Prepare to have your asses collectively---and educationally---kicked, exchangers.

You'll love every painful and informative minute, I think.

Would you mind putting together an educational good prince vs. bad prince pictorial/ critique post for our edification? It'd be a good read!

That's exactly the sort of thing forums aren't very good for. Words alone couldn't do it. A shit-ton of diagrams, drawings, and photos with narrative, sure, but that would be much too large a project for such a limited audience.
Find a good photo set for a Dunhill FET to study---an actual specimen if somebody will loan you one---and use it as a reference while shaping. The other English makers all had princes, but Dunhill made the sexiest, most fully realized version. Truly elegant.

I can attest to the difficulty of a prince. I tried one and wound up calling it an apple instead. I'm looking forward to take two.

I have a great Comoy Tradition 337c from the 50s and a Comoy Guildhall 337 from the 60s for reference. The Guildhall even has the original stem. Picked them up on ebay for about 20 bucks a piece.
