We'd better be! I've got my pipe designed, drilled, fit with a stem, and fit with a plug.

Yeah, I'm about 6 pipes behind right now. Stupid job! Why can't I just make pipes for a living...wait...
Learning how to make pipes on my lathe has really set me back. Its like learning to walk again. I probably should have continued on my drill press till I caught up.

Sweet! When is the due date?

The smoking Yeti declared Feb 2nd to be it, but I say it should be Feb 4th to give people that last weekend to tie up loose ends. Doesn't look like we have a grand leader, but Ocelot seems to be doing alot of organizing. I vote for him to be the sheriff, what say ye?

I'm in favor of a later deadline, but I think we should choose a date that would maximize participation. Sounds like February is good place to start. Would anyone not be able to meet the February deadline?

Would I be a big jerk to try and get in on this considering I've only made a few pipes? That shape seems like a good challenge and I just ordered some blocks and drill bits.

So far so good, folks. Last year we had about 15 participants. If everyone produces a pipe this year it will be one heck of a trade. That said, we have an awful lot of newer members signed up. I think we'd all like to see a couple more of the big boys participate. Getting one of the pro's pipes in the hands of an utter newb might be a big help to their work. Of course I know its tough to make a pipe to give away for free when you could probably sell it for quite a bit elsewhere. We're counting on some magnanimity this holiday season.

I mainly hope I get my ordered tools in quite soon so I can continue my work on this one! I'm still waiting for my wood chuck and recently ordered a QCTP for my lathe along with some replacement parts... Can't use my lathe untill they get here
