I was wondering what the desired buffing speed is. I am looking at buying a buffer but they come in two speeds.
Thanks

I suggest a buffer that runs at 1725 RPM or slower. Faster than that and it's easy to burn your finish - and even easier to fling the workpiece around the shop.

Exactly what Kurt said, but if you can afford a variable speed, go for it.

Search the web. I found this:

Not bad for 1 hp & free shipping, but it might be just a 2 speed 1720 & 3450.
