i thought that this topic should be done,
as i believe that many people have pipes which they don´t know
anything about. it might be a good opportunity get some information
of those pipes from these forums, as the knowledge is big.
so first,
i have this small black rusticated square shanked rhodesian,
which i found from a shop which used to repair pipes years and years ago.
the pipe was in a box full of broken china pipes, broken stems, and pipes
with broken shanks.
the pipe is sstamped PRIMUS, and under it theres something written
but i really can´t get what it is, since it´s stamped shallow.
id like to know something about the pipe, like origin, aprox time when made etc.
i hope someone knows something.[/img]

Re: mystery pipes
Daniel,
Your Primus pipe could be a Comoy second probably from the 30's or 40's, or Primus Pipes which were made by Louis Glass & Co, also in England, dates unknown.
I have a copy of Who Made That Pipe by Herb Wilczak and Tom Colwell which list many of the lesser know brands and makers of the early 20th late 19th century.
