Freeform Apple

This one is for my wife (shocker, didn't even know she was interested in smoking). She told me she wanted something curvy with thick walls (so her hands don't get hot) and a gentle bend in a reddish brown. Here's the end result.

I decided to get away from the catalog shapes and do something a little more creative (ironically, I got the idea from a pipe I saw in a catalog).

Any comments are appreciated.

Very nice shape! Not very masculine yet not girlish - I think you've done very well with the design and the finishing, of course.

I think that is a pipe you should be proud of. The half saddle and concave rim are nice touches that really add to the composition. The only suggestion I can offer is that the stem might be a little overbent. I know that is a topic up for debate...and I tend to prefer the slightly under bent look, so take that as you will. That said, I think that some of the nicest modern, Danish influenced pipes use an under bent stem, and benefit from it.

Great job!
