Hey Tnd,
I feel like this is a nice pipe but I think under different light (daylight, w/o a flash, maybe?), that all of us would be better able to see and appreciate all that beautiful birdseye and give you some proper praise and/or critiques. Any chance we can see this in a more flattering (literally) light? haha. Shape looks good so far but would really love to see that finish the way it looks to you.

@Sorringowl ...
no problem to make a new set of pictures but on monday (don't have a half decent camera at home right now)... the daylight might be a problem (it is raining here for days so light is poor).....
will try to make few better pictures... :)

Nice color choice. I think it really compliments the color of the band.

thank you JMG....
at the end it is a mix of black, yellow, green and brown... (from only having black and yellow)... when i look at it on a good strong light the colours really play on it... i am happy with this even if it started as a problem and IMHO this is really a good colour for this pipe... :)

I switch off the flash, and use eight 100 watt tungsten light bulbs with reflectors, all around, but not behind, and most of them have drafting film, paper (careful) difusion filters in front of them.

Hey Tnd

Very nice pipe you have make, the wood, finish and the shape is looking good, only small point I have is, I will let the stem go to the white band, and not have the black band close to the stem, because you will always see the connection between the two black part.
