This one is the first small pipe I tray to make, and also the first small pipe a have hold in my hand. I don’t know what about this pipe, I have thinking to smoke it be my self.

I really like the pipe.
Just one point, try to take more care at the stem mortise junction. Keep the stem in the pipe when you do your sanding and buffing. That way the fit is tight and will not have any rounding, at the fit.

Nice man, I'm not really sure what to critique. I really like this pipe a lot. The finish is great. If you don't want to smoke it, I'd be glad to smoke it for you,

Now that is a lovely pipe, just my kind of style when it comes to chubbies. Like Bruce the only thing I can comment on is the stem/shank junction.

It is a nice shape. I'll offer a purely functional criticism, and that is the stem taper vs the angle - I suspect that this pipe is not going to sit at a good angle if clenched, and I fail to understand the point of a nosewarmer that is basically relegated to being hand-held. This is a very subjective observation on my part - I felt the same way about the Pease/Radice offering of earlier this year. "Who the hell would smoke that?"

I guess what I'm saying is that for me, that pipe leans a little too far away from "function" on the form/function spectrum, so I wouldn't buy it. But I suspect that I lean too far toward function - I will sacrifice beauty to make a more comfortable or better balanced pipe, because I'm trying to build smokers, not art. It's nice when they collide.

Anyway, it's another nice pipe Carsten and once you get your methods up to scratch, you'll be "big time".

Dude, fantastic pipe, the grain on the top and the finish you put on it makes it look like little gold leaf flake all under
a perfectly finished polish.

It is awesome and inspiring to keep on through my journey when I see work like this.

Very nice pipe. The only thing that I see is that I would like to see more material removed from the underside of the stem towards the bit. I think it would help thin the bit some and give it a more graceful line.

Bruce you are right there is rounding with the stem mortise junction, it’s so bad when you hold it, or maybe my little daughter is right when she tell my, “dad sometime your eyes is not good!”

Sasquatch there is very good point in your comment, and I have sit and read it a couple of time, and think about what is my opinion. I am schizophrenic about small pipe, something a like with them and something not, but funny to make, and it is not need to be handhold. About making smokers or art, I really not put my pipe in the category of art, but this is always easy to use art if somebody don’t like what you are making. My opinion of art is something like hate or love, the feeling I have when I look the pipe Walle are making, and I think those pipe are close to art.

Wdteipen I think it will give the pipe a more light look if removed material form the underside, but if I do this I will loose the straight line under the pipe.

The birds eye placement on the top of the bowl and the finish is stunning. Really nice pipe. The only thing I see that catches my eye is the stem/shank junction and the shank/bowl junction. I agree with Bruce about the sanding. I still botch that at times. It looks like the whole of the shank and stem have a concave appearance in the middle. This over accentuates the shank bowl junction and IMO makes it looks too chunky.
