I know this was meant in jest, but I feel duty bound to tell folks that this is a bad idea. Using actual sand for sandblasting is exceedingly dangerous for your lungs, and can result in silicosis which is a horrible and painful way to die.andrew wrote:Finally ordered my cabinet. Re: blasting
Kurt, you shouldn't be blasting anything into your lungs. Sand, glass bead...it's really bad to wrap your lips around your blaster.KurtHuhn wrote:I know this was meant in jest, but I feel duty bound to tell folks that this is a bad idea. Re: blasting
That sounds like something I might see in a Final Destination movie...
Re: blasting
I was in A&E once when a guy came in who had tested his shot blaster on his gloved hand prior to de rusting a chassis, not a lot of glove, flesh or bone left in his palm.

I just got the e100 cyclone. I couldn't justify anything larger with my brain, my ego on the other hand saw a trinco that was beautiful. I left the trinco alone for now.The Smoking Yeti wrote:What unit did you get?
And yes Kurt, the sand in my kid's sandbox is safe, it would be a shame to blast a pipe with sand desicrated by the local feline population. The dying part would suck too.
Just so everyone knows:
REAL SAND - BAD
BLASTING MEDIA BOUGHT FROM A REPUTABLE SUPPLIER - GOOD

The way to make people want to smoke your pipes is to develop a reputation for excellence in your work. This takes a lot of hard work and several years to accomplish, and there are no short cuts. You just have to keep at it. - Rad Davis
