Great work as usual, James! I like the idea of adding your name to the mark.

On the Nerice, I wish that there was more definition between the bowl and shank on the back of the bowl (the side facing the smoker).

That's my only thought. Take it for what it's worth 'cause lord knows you've been at it longer than I.

I got what you saying.. but the tobacco chamber is drilled at an angle parrallel to the outside of the bowl.. back or front.. you're choice.. there is more meat on the other side.. quite a bit more.. but that's the shape

at least it won't fall apart... no glued in pieces

I really like the 1st one to, but is there an accident inside the shank ?

Nope.... no accident.. what you see toward to end is where the air chamber was drilled.. i do it a bit different... air chamber first.. mortise second.. the white spot noticable at the bottom of the mortise is just residue from the flash from my camera

As the proud owner of a JSEC pipe, I'm still amazed at the quality of the work that come sout of your shop. I love the odd asymmetric finishes, blasts and rustications. It's almost a Picaso type topping an a Rembrandt. Love these selections as well.
