Just finished this pipe. Critic is most welcome!
Or should I have left the stem straight?
Thanks for looking,
Pär

Hey, that looks great to me! That stem definitely needed the slight bend. Grain looks great. Wayne will appreciate that your chamber is sanded real nice.
Good job!

Maybe you could play a little bit with the shape of the stem to break the line... like a larger bit. But it's pretty good
Best regards,

My thought on the stem, is that the top line feels too abrupt. I imagine it flowing smoothly through a curve. I think the short taper may have done it a disservice for sure.

Yeah, I can totally see what you mean. But how to achieve that without fucking up the other side?? Pipe making is bloody difficult!
And thanks for your comments guys.

Hence the mantra "make 50 more"
As is though, this is quite the beautiful piece.

The stummel looks great (especially that nicely sanded bowl.

) I agree that the line on the top of the stem doesn't match the line of the top of the shank. It's a very nice pipe otherwise.

Excellently shaped pipe! I am quite partial to a good "Egg", and the grain on this one pretty nice as well! Looks like you took as much advantage of what the block was giving you when you oriented the grain. I would certainly agree with the others that bending the stem just a touch did worlds for the flow of the pipe!
Keep it up!
P.S. Why is there such a color difference between the finished images and the last image (without the stem bent)? Is it just the lighting, or was the last picture pre-carnauba, white diamond etc.?

Thanks for all the comments guys.
@Jonathan. The last pic is taken just after buffing after sanding 400 grit. And I only wanted to shot a photo with the stem straight.
