I've become a real fan of Dunhill tobacco and have smoked several tins of Dunhill Flake.
I tried Royal Yacht and am wondering if it has a topping on it or is the taste the product of a curing process?
I'm a little baffled and let down so far. Anyone have insight or comments on this blend?

Re: Royal Yacht
Hello Kevin,
No reply for a bit so I'll jump in. I used to smoke Royal Yacht some back in the late 70's early 80's. Little doubt there is some kind of flavor or topping added, but it's not really considered an aromatic. I'm guessing there is a good bit of difference to the blend over the years as it went through the various blenders handling the Dunhill tobaccos. Still pretty well respected, and some folks love it!

Re: Royal Yacht
Hello there,
I smoke Royal Yacht regurally, I need a tin every month and I use Group4 pipes cause of the ribbon cut.
I do think so that there is a little casing that smells like dried plums or fig, but of course it΄s not an aromatic tobacco, more like a virginia smoke with a little twist.

I really enjoy this blend. I also don't consider it to be aromatic although i detect a slight casing. The flavor does not put me off at all.
