thanks guys
as for the angle...prolly 15? I usually just eyeball it, and I like a little more forward cant than a strictly english paradigm.

I haven't uploaded anything here for a few months, thought you might enjoy this one :) Its hard to see in the photos, but the extension is ivory celluloid, and is nicely grained. http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/vv255/jaredccoles/WoodenPipeProfile.jpg http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/vv255/jared...

Re: Anyone buy from this guy?
I saw this thread when it initially got posted, was curious, and checked the seller on ebay. It sounded really tempting, but I had some briar already, so I didn't order. I checked it again today and saw the good reviews, so I couldn't pass it up. hopefully three weeks from now I'll have another good...

chinese dealers
Heyo Gents, I was wondering if any of you (especially more established makers) have heard of a gentlemen by the Denis Lu, claiming to be a wholesaler out of Hong Kong. I was contacted recently and apparently he wants to buy up my stock and basically tie up my theoretical annual production. Sounds re...

shop pipe for sale
I have a pipe with a flaw in the chamber, awesome rustication, and handcut stem (my stems are super comfy, if nothing else about this pipe is). $50, its yours, or PM me with a lowball offer :) I just thought someone out there might want a nice handmade pipe for the shop, plus I know you guys have sh...

faux sandblast
I made a billiard the other day (of slightly askwithian proportions) and found a flaw in the chamber large enough to be unsaleable, so I experimented with a new rustication. Kinda labor intensive. whadaya think? This is also being posted in the pipes for sale section, in case anyone wants a awesome ...

Re: Where is the front of the bowl?
It seems like (no offense to the parties involved), due to general consensus, that tyler is wrong I have a gut feeling that this will be the next hot button issue of the pipe world, rivaling the bowl coating conspiracy.

Heyo
I (and my partner in crime) recently acquired a website. I'd love for you guys to take a look-see and let me know what you think.
JnJPipes.com
also, you can purchase a pipe or two while you're there, if one strikes your fancy

Re: 14-11 '2x7'
Well done. That's a pretty nifty pipe. That being said, I did notice a few things :) the walls of the bowl are almost vertical, which makes it look to me more like a small bowled stack. A little more taper towards the rim might make it look a little better. The only other thing is I feel like it nee...

Re: Chubby freehand with horn
Great finish work. The stem has lots of nice detail work. Props.
I wouldn't say the bowl is too large, but it looks like its not even front to back with respect to the chamber. I wouldn't go back and fix it since it looks pretty amazing already.

Re: Barbi drilling
I actually got to see Jeff Gracik drill a few times last year, and talk about where he learned. His drilling from. He learned from people like Jody Davis and Todd Johnson, who learned from some Danish legends. And that's not how they did it :) I won't go into exactly how the more " Danish"...

Re: Brandy
I wouldn't worry about the symetricalness of the plateau, only because including it in the first place is asymetric. I like it off center like that, it says that its not coming out of a fabricator. Also, ingenious use of the stamp. Love the stummel, hate the stem. Cumberland is a little to busy with...

Re: 11-11 'Irish-Dane'
lovely shape and finish.
only thing is that saddle seems a bit clunky, I think if you thinned it out from saddle to bit instead of tapering it so much, it might be a bit more graceful
