Re: Learning from the masters

I have probably been too pushy, but man I love pipe making and want to get better as fast as I can.

I love his work, but a few go beyond my taste. This is one of those.

Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !

Well I was very disappointed, Jody Davis is in Nashville and he is a recognized master pipe carver I have no idea why he wasn't teaching the class. If pipe making classes are going in the direction of tormented blowfish and droopy pokers then I might just have to never go there again. As for E...

Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !

also, Ernie, you are too nice. the OP was childish and just plain stupid. Perhaps so. I don't know this man at all, and I'd prefer to offer a bit of grace first. I've certainly fired off an email (or a post or my mouth) without thinking about it in the past. I guess I'd rather a "come let us r...

Re: Two questions about an estate

it sounds like the entry into the tobacco chamber is similar to the entry into the chamber of my, and many if not most cavalier pipes, so I wouldn't worry about that. I wonder about just how flat bottomed it is, are the angles on the sides right angles? how big is the bowl? I would call the pipemake...

Re: Two questions about an estate

What fancy latin terms do you have for someone who judges a pipe and pipemaker without actually seeing the pipe? even the picture? and no it isn't my pipe, I know my pipes suck

Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !

Haters gonna hate. Let's think about this a bit. Who is the largest growing population of pipe smokers right now and the future of pipe smoking? Once Rad started blasting a pipe at 2:34 pm and finishes at 2:32 pm two minutes before he started. He is really really really good.
