Chicago Pipe Show

Post by LexKY_Pipe »

I know it's early, but the show in Chicago is actually just three months away. I can't wait for winter to end! How many forum guys are planning to go?

I want to go so bad I can taste it. I had to select undecided though. It will depend on finances, and also if I can pull off of the time away from work. Super busy time at Murray State (the weekend before finals). If I can make it, it will likely only be Saturday and Sunday morning.

I'm heading to the St. Louis show early tomorrow morning though. That's a lot closer, and a better day to get away, but.... they are predicting snow :( It will have to be a lot to keep me from going though). It will be my first pipe show :D

Scott, i sent you a note, but I'm watching the news and they are saying 35 mph winds around that snow. That's one of the reasons I had to change my plans for St Louis.

CHICAGO...I'm planning on being there this year.

I'll be there in the Canadian ghetto next to Michael Parks again this year. Frank always seems to want to stick us in the far back right. He tries to get us as far away from the center as possible to avoid the smell of maple syrup and back bacon from wafting through the building.

I cannot afford it - but I´ll be there - whatsoever it costs.
I always book the room and reserve the table for the following year when I leave Chicago.
Chicago is important to me as an etailer from the other side of the pond.
I work hard on it to get the cash for the ticket together.

I really plan on going. Seeing how little pipe work I've been able to put together it looks like I won't even have anything for the Friday Pre-show, but I plan on coming anyway.

Now I am not going. We've had a bit of a family crisis and may need to travel to Vermont between now and the end of May. I can't leave town for the show.

Hope all of you have a great time!

Good Day to All,

I've never been, but I would like to know how much the room costs, name of hotel, how long is the show, is there any admission fee, etc, etc, etc?
When the dust settles, how much does it cost you guys (without air fare of course)?
All the best,

Hey Tano,

It has cost me around $500-600 for a room at the resort plus the price of a table. I arrive on Wednesday and leave on Monday. If you're going just for Sat. and Sun., it will be much less.

These figures only include what shows up on my credit card. There is also a *lot* of cash spent.

It's the most expensive pipe show in America, and darn well worth it. :P

Greetings-
I planning on attending as always. My side kick Tony Deisler in tow. I have a terminal illness in the family which could sidetrack my plans. Rooms are booked for Thursday thru Sunday night. Chucks, Tobacco Chamber bits, Stem tooling, and single flute tobacco chamber cutters.
Visa/MC personal checks welcome. : )
See you there hopefully,

Ken

I'm coming! I won't have a table of my own, but have an invite to lay some stuff out at Kirk Bosi's table. Mostly I just want to soak it all in! I've booked a room for Friday and Saturday night. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you who make it, seeing some great pipes, and maybe boring a few of you with what ever I manage to bring

How about a pipemaker-forum meeting on the show ?
We could place a note about the day and time on a blackboard in the lounge.
Could be in anybodies room or at the hotel bar.

Just an idea,
Rolf
