Any suggestions to best pipecarving books? I have seen PIMO's but are there any other good ones? Thank you.

That's it as far as pipeMAKING books go. You're other bets should be placed here in the forums and on various pipemakers' websites that have tutorials with varying degrees of detail.

The PIMO book is actually pretty good. I usually suggest it to anyone looking to learn the basics.

Here's an idea to toss into the melting pot. How about one, or a collaboration of two or more, experienced pipemakers compiling a real book, with illustrations etc., on pipemaking. Sure, as authors you'll be standing in line at the soup kitchen, but no one has ever written a professional pipemaking handbook, at least not to my knowledge.

Frank.

I was thinking that Frank. Heck I would pay 50 bucks for a nice thorough updated book with pics and maybe have it entail a bit more specics and intricate details.

I think much of it is here on the forum but it would be nice to compile it into a text. I prefer books over online reading...although I am grateful for this forum very much.

EXCELLENT!!

I won't have the audacity to say, "great minds yadda yadda...", but in the back of my mind I was also recalling Tyler's videos and how that might be a good idea as well.

Frank.

I've got some video in the works as well. Though I dare say, mine might a be a "counterpoint" to Todd's. :D

See the posting from last night regarding the pipe-making seminar at the Chicago show. I've heard good things about it.
