Some photo tips:
Try using the Focus Lock feature (see user guide). It may help you get a better focus.
But also, use more light which will allow a faster shutter speed, which will stabilize the image more, and if posible use some kind of support for the camera to stop movement, which can also blur the image.
Use 2 lights, minimum, one on each side at about 45 deg angles. Brighter images will also make the colors look better in the image.
