Larger Diameter Ebonite Rod

Hey guys,

so lately I have been getting frustrated because the ebonite rod that I've been getting from PME is not large enough in diameter for lots of the stems I have been wanting to do for my pipes--and I'm tired of compromising. I was thinking about ordering some directly from SEM, but was wondering if there were any other suppliers you guys could recommend that sell rod in various diameters (probably up to 1.5"-2" would be good, but who knows). Also, how much rod do you have to buy from SEM, I'd probably like to keep it under ~$400-500--I'm running out of briar too.

Some colors/diameters they only sell in bulk. Ones I ordered were out of stock and she called me next day to sort out my order. good customer service, quick delivery.

Also, sometimes they have odd lengths of some stuff that is not on the site left over from custom cuts, and if you ask about it she can till you if she has any laying around.

It might be a bit expensive, but a guy in Germany
has ebonite rods from 18mm (€ 33,-) till 29mm (€ 75,-) - Hermann von Appen.
I guess, if you order from US you gonna pay 19% of VAT on top of that.
If you decide to buy from him, make sure he won't divide the rods
in smaller pieces. I prefer to do it on my own.

In US there is Pipe Maker Emporium. I believe it has the same
quality of the German one, but with better prices.
