Olive wood Bulldog and a color of sand ebonite stem. As always i appreciate your comments guys,so fire away at will .

As always, the pipe is beautiful. Recognizable as a bulldog but filled with unique interpretations. In the third photo down the stem looks a little asymmetrical with the top side having more of a slant, but I am guessing this is just the picture and the paper skirt of the tin. Where would a guy go to find information about purchasing one of your olive wood creations?

Just work with your hands as often as you can on a pipe ,and the right shape will come.

I appreciate your thought caskwith,i generally do not make my pipes with a lathe,I prefer to make it as my great grandfather used to do it by free hands and some primary hand and drilling tools.
The rings on this bulldog are made by a diamond plate of a certain dimension fixed to a drill while the pipe is fixed in a vice(chuck) that moves free on a perfectly even plane horizontal to the diamond,the depth is determined by a special round aluminum profile that keeps it in distance while drilled,there is of course more to it.I had to develop some of my own tools for this very precise procedure .

Hey d6monk,it is German ebonite from SEM .They really have a wide variety of cumberland and uni-color ebonite rods,a very developed and progressive ebonite manufacture i must add.

I really like this (bulldog is my favorite shape). The only problem I see is that the shank looks pinched where it meets the bowl, and it seems to have a reverse taper in general, which I don't generally care for. Does anyone else see this or think it presents a problem?

Yes I do see. That's why I didn't comment on this one I like how he lets the shapes dissolve and rearrange them but I don't like this tendency on the bulldog shape. Even if you modify this shape I think certain rules must never be broken: like the shank thing you described.

I see that too. On most pipes I wouldn't care about it, but in this pipe I think it works. It's a chubby nice pipe.

The only thing that keeps bothering me is the lip. Still a great pipe, thought.
