A bit expensive but good wood, I have some of thier Corsican briar and it is very nice.

Just like David told. Good wood but a bit expensive. I didn't try the cheapest ones he has.
But the most expensive ones are good. No terminal flaws, good grain (excellent for bird-eyes cut),
extra extra dry (not like a rock, but hard anyway).
But now, Janzen's ebonite and cumberland are like no other I've found around
eder.

Hi,
I can confirm the above. All my earlyer pipes are made of Marco Janzen's briar. I have tried the medium and the small size blocks and they're a good decission if you want to make small to medium sized pipes. Neither the cheapest nor the best wood you can find but good reliable quality (and that's worth a lot).

thank you Steffen, i had to order some bar material and was thinking to use also their briar... i had to go for the biggest piece... not cheap but i had to do it this way for a few reasons... hopefully the briar will be nice... we'll see
