Nice work Tommi. Your rustication technique is astounding! Seriously, what is your secret. Excellent work.
Re: My newest Pipes
I couldn't have said it better. The second pipe, on the bottom of the bowl - the birds-eye reminds me of a semi-precious stone. Really nice work sir.Ocelot55 wrote:Nice work Tommi. Your rustication technique is astounding! Seriously, what is your secret. Excellent work.

Great job and nice stem work.
What blast media are you using. Quite nice!

Re: My newest Pipes
Those are gorgeous! The first and third are my personal favorites.
Re: My newest Pipes
Those are really nice, Tommi. I especially like the blasts.
Re: My newest Pipes
Okay, I just need some clarification. I was under the impression that these pipes were rusticated not blasted. Look at the grain on the billiard. The rim is smooth. If this pipe were blasted you would expect to see birdseye on the rim because of the ring grain. The rim on Tommi's pipe is flame grain. Are my eyes deceiving me here?
Re: My newest Pipes
Hallo,
your Eyes are okay .
You are right!
The Pipes are rusticated, with a dremel.
Sandblasting is currently beyond my means.
But in the course of time i should like to try.
Thank you men for the nice comments, that makes me happy .
Best wishes

Thanks, Tommi. I thought I was going crazy for a second.
That still leaves one question:
HOW DO YOU DO IT!!!!!!?????? Please, I'm dying to know!
I hope it is not a trade secret. Your faux blast really is THE best I have seen!

Great work on the rustication - looks like a good blast instead.
Re: My newest Pipes
That is incredible fake-blasting. Except for the time involved (blasting would no doubt be faster) I can't see any hurry to get a blasting cabinet for you Tommi!
ALL YOUR PIPE ARE BELONG TO US!
My newest Pipes
Those are nice pipes, and like the others, I'm impressed by how much that rustication looks like a blast. Good work!
Re: My newest Pipes

Re: My newest Pipes

Re: My newest Pipes
I personally like the second pipe the best, but that rustication is killer! Mad props
All three look to be very well constructed. Your attention to detail is easily apparent.

Re: My newest Pipes
That is seriously awesome fake blasting on the last pipe. I gave it a shot with a dremel once and it came out nowhere near that nice. Kudos.
