Post by Tommi »

Hello Guys,

The Lovat have a handcut mouthpiece, the other two have industrial pre finished mouthpieces i fitted to the Pipes.
Please let me read your criticism and opinions.

I couldn't have said it better. The second pipe, on the bottom of the bowl - the birds-eye reminds me of a semi-precious stone. Really nice work sir.

Okay, I just need some clarification. I was under the impression that these pipes were rusticated not blasted. Look at the grain on the billiard. The rim is smooth. If this pipe were blasted you would expect to see birdseye on the rim because of the ring grain. The rim on Tommi's pipe is flame grain. Are my eyes deceiving me here?

Hallo,
your Eyes are okay :) .
You are right!
The Pipes are rusticated, with a dremel.
Sandblasting is currently beyond my means.
But in the course of time i should like to try.
Thank you men for the nice comments, that makes me happy :D .
Best wishes

Thanks, Tommi. I thought I was going crazy for a second.

That still leaves one question:

:notworthy: HOW DO YOU DO IT!!!!!!?????? Please, I'm dying to know!

I hope it is not a trade secret. Your faux blast really is THE best I have seen!

Tommi, Nice pipes! I love the polish on your smooth, and your shaping is very nice. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

That is incredible fake-blasting. Except for the time involved (blasting would no doubt be faster) I can't see any hurry to get a blasting cabinet for you Tommi!

Those are nice pipes, and like the others, I'm impressed by how much that rustication looks like a blast. Good work!

I personally like the second pipe the best, but that rustication is killer! Mad props
All three look to be very well constructed. Your attention to detail is easily apparent.

That is seriously awesome fake blasting on the last pipe. I gave it a shot with a dremel once and it came out nowhere near that nice. Kudos.
