This still needs some refinement, not totally happy with the proportions. Shank too straight, need more "belly" to it.

You did a good job of orienting the grain. I don't think it 'needs' more belly, you could go either way with that, the way you have it is fine. I think the shank ornamentation could have been left off, the grain is interesting enough. I think if you decided to have more curve it might look better with a tapered stem. The saddle was a good choice. The stem might be a little over-bent. The rings came out nicely, very clean.

Overall, this is a good pipe.
