Churchwarden #1

Post by AldenW »

A lot of firsts here! My first briar, my first churchwarden, my first use of stain, first plateaux... etc
I had an inexcusable amount of fun completing this. Briar is waaaay more fun than cherry.

Waaaaaay more fun for sure. Not a bad little warden you've got there. Enjoy it!

Thanks UberHuberMan! I intent to; finishing up the book in the pictures. Lord Of The Rings really does read way better with a warden in hand.
I also reworked the finish this morning with the sun out again. I lightened up the contrast and improved the consistency.

Thanks Yeti. They really do taste fantastic! I'm enjoying the heck out of this one. I think I may just have to make a couple more...

Good! I hadn't realized what finicky work staining briar is. I'd get it where I wanted then I'd have to practically hold my breath to keep from messing it up.
