Find a small-job machine shop (shouldn't be hard, Ohio is a major tooling hub) to grind a couple down to parallel and polish the edges. A wide one and a narrow one.PremalChheda wrote:

UFOs must be real. There's no other explanation for cats.

So far, I have tried the iwasaki and aluminum file. The Iwasaki is great for hogging out material but it takes some major dexterity and concentration. The aluminum file is so nice for acrylic, ebonite, or wood. I wish they would make more profiles with the same cut. The aluminum file is pretty inexpensive and I think it will become the one all file I use in the future if I can find one that has parallel sides.
Try a Nicholson Magi-cut, they have parallel sides. I have some aluminium filed on the way for my big file show down but so far I have been really impressed with the magi-cut.

What happened to the aluminum file????
Re: Fast cutting files.
That's the one, mine was pillar though, no taper and one safe edge. Love it!

Magicut is a good file. Very fast. Stock removal rate and cut finish is very similar to iwasaki extra fine.
(and half the price)
