Danish Egg...ish?

Post by Lundell »

My latest creation. I'm calling it a Danish Egg. I don't know if thats correct or not, but it's what I'm going with.
The pipe sold quickly, so I guess I must have done something right...
Enjoy!

I like the bowl shape. The bowl looks out of proportion to the shank and stem. Either a smaller bowl or a longer shank and stem would be better proportioned. There appears to be very slight rounding of the edges at the junction of the shank and stem.

Hmm, I see what you're getting at. I think taking more meat of the shank bowl junction would've had the same effect. Sort of...
There's actually a gap between shank and stem in these pictures. I took care of that before I sent it off to the buyer. Should've taken new pics...
Thanks for commenting! :)

I can track what Wayne is saying, but I see something out of Dan Pipe's 50's/60's catalogs and not an egg. you should look them up.... you still have a little extra meat at the top of the stem shank junction, but I honestly like the shape...

Looks a lot like something Loran would have made.

So what you're saying is I got the Danish part right anyways. I can live with that! :D

One of my favorite pipes is actually an old Pipe-Dan marked Loran that I bought from "Tradera", the Swedish version of eBay. It doesn't look much like this one though.
