How much do these guys charge to ship? Is it a function of the price of your order? I've been looking through the website and I cannot find this info. Maybe I'm too tired.

I don't recall seeing a shipping charge on any of my invoices. I think that the shipping charge is built into the price, which is relatively high. However, McMaster has uniformly good tools and materials, is superbly stocked, and whatever you order is on your doorstep the next morning. I use them all the time.

Indeed. Sorry for the misinformation. Still an excellent supplier, in my opinion. If I want to save money on an item of tooling, I usually use Enco. If I just want it, I use McMaster.

McMaster might not be a price-store, but they have everything. Which makes me happy that their NJ distribution facility is 15 minutes from my apartment. No shipping for me fellas! ;)

I ordered some delrin and 3 drill bits. $20.89 worth of stuff. Called first to get a shipping quote. Gave the guy on the phone all the item numbers I was getting and told him my zip code. He said it would be about $4.00 to ship. When I got my invoice, it appeared that I was being charged $11.75 for shipping!!!! For shipping $20.89 worth of stuff that weighs almost nothing! What the heck?

I called and told the poor woman on the phone that this was unacceptable. She told me that she put a note in my file that I was to be getting a refund for some of the shipping, but that the order had already shipped. Wow, that was fast. I was ready to cancel the order.

Has this happened to anyone else? What's the deal, here??

I think shipping for me was about 12 bucks but I got my product within 24 hours so I was pleased. That delrin comes in a 5 foot long box so I think that may cost more to ship due to its odd size dimensions, but who knows.

I ordered 3 rolls of sandpaper, 5 feet of delrin, and 3 packs of sanding disks.
