videos and articles on the way

Post by KurtHuhn »

I hope to be posting some how-tos, videos (if I can find the tarball that Tyler sent me), and some additional content as well. I'm going to try and make a stummel video today (Sept 5, '05) if I have the time. I may even make a series of videos, taking a single pipe from start to finish.

I bought my wife a new Mini-DV camera not too long ago, and it will work out really well for taking videos in the shop. I just have to find a place to mount it where it won't get hit by flying briar....

Thanks for all the hard work Kurt--you're putting in a ton of hours around here--thanks. I'm really looking forward to the video--you're talking about turning one on your wood lathe right?

Go go gadget finger-lathe!!

Yes, I'll be doing it all on my wood lathe. I fully intended on making a video today, but I went out to the garage to clean things up and prepare the place for filming, and before I knew it, I had a bamboo-shanked dublin half made. I looked down and realized what I had done, and now I feel pretty bad about it. I even got as far as sandlbasting the bowl and turning the stem.

No worries though, there's always next weekend. And if everything goes according to plan, I should be able to make some really good videos with the pipe I have planned.
