Very nice... I like the "chunky" look in certain shapes, and that's one that takes full advantage of a larger shank. What's the shank extension material?

Hopefully, tomorrow I'll have pics of five of my pipes.. one I made way back and the rest I've made over the last two months..

I tend to like the chunkier proportions too. The shank material is a wood called mazuer birch. I hope I spelled that correctly.

It always seems that my pipes end up smaller, more in the fashion of Italian pipe makers. A friend of mine keeps bugging me to make one along the lines you have posted here, because he's into those proportions. I just can't get my head and hands to do it yet.

Very nice pipe Dave! I only have one chunky pipe in my collection, and have not made any yet. This one really appeals to me. I like the Mazuer Birch. I saw some last time I was in a Woodcraft and thought it might be interesting. Sure enough!
