That looks like better briar than some of the early stuff you had, Daniel. Different supply?
I like the shape, vaguely calabash freehands appeal to me. The only thing that sticks out to my eye is that the shank is a little fat at the stem joint - it would look nicer if there was a more uniform taper from bowl to stem.
Very nice pipe. I aggree that the shank appears to have a slight bulge near the stem. I would prefer that the plateau be stained the same dark color as the base of your contrast finish. Maybe, the button could use a little thining. Its a very handsome pipe, keep em coming. Scot

same jaume briar as usual, i tinkered with the pipe too long, the shank issue was considerd well.
well, maybe not well enough. this is fairly "traditional" pipe for me to do.
i quess theres always a part of me that says, do it as its not supposed to do, just for the sake of it.
