FREEBIE! Grinder of yesteryear

Post by Dixie_piper »

One of our security guards gave me this for scrap, but I plugged it in and it actually works! The motor is a 1/2HP westinghouse, 3450 RPM, 6.6 Amps @ 115V 3.3Amps @ 220, w/ a 5/8" shaft.
The cool thing is the pulleys, gives the option of 3450 or 1725 depending on which shaft is used

Thanks! :)
I meant to put that in the first post as well. I am going to have to re-align the pulleys, the board is a bit warped. Still all in all that's not too much left to be done.
I'm toying with the idea of a slide mount so I can engage/disengage the secondary pully easily and possibly interchange pulleys (and of course distance to keep proper tension) to change the ratio (1:2, 1:3, 1:4, etc) for different RPM ranges. That would, in my opinion at least, make it a fairly versatile lil tool.
It would be a bit of hassle, but for a freebie I won't complain a lick.
Thanks again!

Adam
