Very cool design. I love it. The only part that seems a little out of place is the choice to use a rounded bead on the stem. You have all those nice sharp edges everywhere and then the rounded part of the stem. It keeps drawing my eye to it and it's not what my eye finds the most pleasing. I like the sharp edges. The heel of the bowl could stand to be a bit more defined for the same reason but overall it still works. It looks like there might be some tool marks/scratches in a few spots but it's hard to tell for sure. If so, just make sure not to rush the finish and spend time with the higher grit sandpaper. Awesome work Tnd.

Hey Danijel,
that is now something different and i will not go into analyzing the shape - i just like it since it has something to tell .The fluorescent red stem is daring but fits the overall stile of the shape as a very well executed post modern reaching through the scars...

Good work!

I agree with Abi. I'm not usually a big fan of unusually colored stems but this one fits this pipe and looks good to me. Very daring.

guys - glad you like it... this shape was made using mostly a dremel sanding tool (for the first time) and shape of it was executed almost by itself... can't tell how i got that shape shaped... i just did.... i am happy with it...
overall the pipe is not that red in colour (it is more brown than red in real life) and the stem is not so "poison" like... :) it is a bit more to the brown side - still translucent and "alive" but not so poison like red.. :D...
heheheheh...
i really do like this shape... :) (i know it is my work here but i really do like it - been happy with it)....

Very nice, original. I like it in every detail. I think, maybe, your best pipe, so far.
I, also, think it is okay for you to say you like the pipe, about your own pipe. It shows how you feel about this pipe.
M.M.

miscellaneous rambling....
Ditto, all of the comments above, but I can't tell if those are tool marks or just light reflections from around the room, but definitely, if I ever feel like I am tired, or impatient, and rushing to finish something, I take a break or shut down until tomorrow. Say what you will about work flow, production, etc., this is, afterall, handmade pipemaking, right? Make it right, as best you can, but of course, there are many posible approaches to pipemaking.
Sometime, while taking a break, I will study the work and the drawings and come up with a modification of the design which improves it. Occasionally, thae modification requires some kind of special tool or procedure or a material that I don't have, and I will order it or make it. If I was worried about finishing the pipe quickly, that would not be posible, but again, I say, there are many posible approaches to pipemaking.

:)
i have used two light halogen light bulbs - one is 300W (static) and the other is 150W (moving for a best colour-shadow view).... maybe this light was the cause of what you reffer as tool markings... either way - carnauba was not applied in at least three layers as i am applying her usually but in only one layer - this is because this pipe will be in my possesion and carnauba is applied only to make the pipe look good (that is why i put it there) - in the first place i was even thinking not to apply the wax, only to polish it and leave it like that but the wax adds more dept in the pictures so i decided to apply it in one layer afterall... for my personal use, no need to look to fancy... :)
today i will open it for the first time.... :) i am really excited....

I love the pipe shape and the detailed cuts! I do not like the color of the stem. IMO it cheapens the elegant look. I'd thiink it'd be better with a black stem with maybe a few chisled cuts on it that go with the theme of the stummel. Thats a great pipe though.

Coool Daniel!

I like it a lot - this Walle contest does boost some sinister creativity that would probably have stayed hidden in the dark corners of ones personality, doesn't ist?

well Steffen - this one was not for the contest... i got a new dremel tool so i was exploring... and let me tell you... i like the dremel tool a lot... it is more personal approach to pipemaking than using a french wheel..... i like it a lot.... and the pipe - it smokes reaaaaallly good - a real good smoker... :)

If you don't want your french wheel anymore I"d be glad to take it off your hands,

Daniel, this shape is not really my cup of tea, but I can certainly appreciate it. You did a great job with the execution. It all looks very well done and has really clean lines. Great job.

The fit and finish look really good to me on this one. I have to say, though, that I like the first one better for overall composition. I really like the flare on the shank and think repeating this flare on the end of the shank like you did on the first pipe works better. I also think that the shank and stem area has a lot going on that distracts from the overall composition.

thank you Wayne and JMG....
well, i would make the mouthpiece red if you ask me but there were some opinions that the red mouthpiece was a bit to much for some of you outhere and on this one (not only because of those other opinions) i wanted to have a calmer appearance (at least in colour) - more uniform... but i comensated this using a more complex shape than i the first one....
i am aware that all this is a matter of taste :) this is good... some will like it, some will not :) heheheheh...
regards and once again - thank you...

Oh MY now that is sweet, Daniel. That black stem gives it a classy-ass look. I love it. WOW

I like the "busy-ness of all the curves and the different shapes... as it keeps your eye movng and keeps it interesting. A well sculptured piece of art IMO.

Hi Daniel,
a very sharp executed pipe, with a whole lot of ring application that are precisely integrated into the shape !A classical appearance in a modern form ,the grain and finish is just wonderful and fully reflects your stile!

Congrats  and no red MP,please!
