Pipe raffle to help Japan!

Post by TreverT »

I am having a raffle for a grade 4 Ligne Bretagne Oom-Paul I just finished, with all proceeds going to the charity Shelterbox to help provide the essentials of survival to those left homeless in the wake of the Japanese earthquake. You can buy a ticket for $20, and please buy as many tickets as you can afford. Winner gets the pipe! I hope we'll be able to raise more money this way than I could afford to contribute on my own, and it's a great opportunity for the pipe collecting community to reach out and help our friends overseas in their time of need. Please help if you can! Full details and pics of the prize pipe here:

Thank you for your time, and let's try to send at least a little bit of help their way.
Happy Smoking,
Trever Talbert

I've spread the word to the Dutch/Belgian pipesmoking forum (which has quite a few Talbert-fans) hoping to raise even more money for the victims in Japan :-)

Thanks very much! So far, the raffle is doing great and bringing in a lot of money. I'm doing the first big donation transfer to Shelterbox today (Want to get the money to them as quickly as possible for maximum use now). I am completely over the moon at the turnout we have had.

Trever, could you tell me, how thick are the bowls walls on this pipe?
We (my co-pipesmokers on the dutch forum and myself) were wondering how thick they are...

.7cm. They look thin from the photos of the top rim, but the walls taper inwards immediately and get thicker as they go down.
