A half bent fresh from the shop
A half bent fresh from the shop
Just finished this one, I thought I'd show it here for some critique
It's my 25th pipe, I'm aware of some of the faults, maybe there's more...
There's more pics on my site.
Ok, off to work on the next one

That's a good looking pipe. I'm not sure what faults you're talking about. The only thing I see is a little stain in the chamber.
Re: A half bent fresh from the shop
Thanks guys!
As to the faults, if I were to make this one again I'd probably make the mouthpiece just a bit shorter, and I think the back of the bowl could match the front better... But still I'm quite happy with it
There's stain in the chamber because I was trying out some home-made chemical staining and it was deeper than usual, didn't want to enlarge the chamber too much with sanding. A bowl coating would be in order

Nice work. This is my favorite on the site, along with the other bent egg.
You do a nice job on the shank and stem on both pipes, very nice lines.

Beautiful pipe! Love the shaping on this. Nice website, too.

Re: A half bent fresh from the shop
I checked-out your site...some very nice, down-to-earth looking pipes. I didn't notice until you mentioned it, but I agree, the pipe shown here would be better if the stem was a bit shorter...But it is also fine as is.keilwerth wrote:Thanks guys!

Stain in the bowl seems to be inevitable sometimes. It can get around any plug and go through the wood grain, and yes, a bowl coating will solve the problem.
