Two new ones

Post by Tommi »

Hello smoking friends,
here my newest Pipes. Both are for filters(9mm).
The black one i named "Featherweight Freehand" because it is 21g lightweight.
The other is 44g.
The mouthpieces are readjusted acrylic ones, no handcut.
Your opinions would make me happy
Greetings Tommi

Good lookin' pipes!

Now, this is my newby opinion, but I'd say that those stems are way too long. Cut them both in half and you'll be set.

The shank to stem transition on the first one also feels a little unnatural to me. Not sure exactly how one would fix that, but that's why I'm here to learn. :P

I hope this is helpful!

I won't comment on the specifics of the shape other than they are not my cup of tea. However, they are obviously very well done. You know exactly what you're doing.

I assume those are sandblasted? I only ask because the grain patterns look almost too good.

I'm obviously new to the forums, so take what I say with a MAJOR grain of salt.

I really like the long stems, long stems can make pipes look weird. But in the instance of your pipes- they really seem nice. I'm personally a fan of longer pipes, I love cooler smokes.

Also- in the first pipe, the unblasted part is something I've always wanted to try. So... I'd like to live vicariously through you, you should try doing some curving lines through the pipe in the same way you did the shank of the first pipe. If I'm correct you taped off that part of the shank when you blasted? I think it might be really cool to do a partial sandblast with a curving line running through the bottom of the shank and up one side of the bowl.

But anywho- I really like your pipes. Keep it up!

Thanks men,
i`m happy about your comments :D .
The Pipes are rusticated, at present i try to rusticate them that they look like sandblasted once.
I´m not sure with the lenght of the stems. Next time will use shorter once i think.
Many thanks and greetings

I'm curious how you achieve your rusticated effect. I've always been interested in simulating a sandblast before. Your pipes represent some of the best faux blasting I've seen. How did you do it?
