Rig up a shop vac with the either the blue paper filter over the foam or with the new (and probably better) air-cleaner baffle type filter, and use the high-efficiency contractor grade bags as well. They are yellow and feel almost like cloth as opposed to the white papery filter bags.

I run a couple 6 gallon shop vacs, one in the shop, one for on-site purposes, and I cannot ever risk spitting shit out the port in someone's million dollar living room, so I run the baffle filter and the yellow bag all the time. Always 100% effective, they are quite good.

ok thanks. yes i have the cloth filter over the the foam.. the baffle bag seals the inside? if so that makes sense!!! so the media is contained in the bag and not sitting on the bottom of the vac tube bottom

Yup. Makes cleanout far easier too, cuz stuff isn't loose in the canister. You'll never run a shop vac without the bag again - it's that much better.

You need to get the pleated filter for your shop vac.

I run mine in my blasting shed without the bag (no real reason) and it is 99% effective. With a fine filter bag it would be 100%.

The fine filter bag has a large active surface area and won't plug up, and it basically means that the pleated filter stays clean for a long, long time. I use these bags vaccuuming drywall repairs - ultra fine dust. The bags are for Shop-vac brand shopvacs. They attach right at the opening where the hose goes.

Over the spout that comes into the cannister, or they slide into a little bracket and the hose punches through that.
