I really like the treebark rustication but it looks like the termites do too.

Re: Yeti Pipe #10
I wanted to make the pipe feel like it was organic. Crumbling, hence the termites loving the rim.
Re: Yeti Pipe #10
I love it, even though the rim of the bowl scared the crap out of me the first few seconds!

I like it man. Nice stem work. Thin and the slot looks real clean. That is some funky looking tobacco on the table though

Boy, thats purty......I usually don't care of rusticated pipes, but this one is great. I think the rim is totally awesome. Was that the plateaux that you just gave a little help to, or is that all you (I can't tell)?
Between the sawdust (?) and the rusty nails this totally looks like a piece of wood I would find in my grandpa's shop or wood pile. Beautiful.

Am I Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley??...depends on the day.

Oh, and the rustication on the top was all me- there was no plateaux up there.

How do you do that tree-bark rustication anyways? Is it doable without a sandblaster?
Beautiful pipe.

I really like this pipe. I think it looks great. Nice photography too.I know you had a look you were going for, but my personal preference would have left the top without the rustication.
Nice work.

AldenW, I do this completely without a sandblaster- kinda wish I had one though...
Growley, I didn't like the top rustication at first either- I love it now though, it kinda grew on me.

Neat! You mind sharing your tool of choice? I'd love to give it a try when I get up and running. The Smoking Yeti wrote:AldenW, I do this completely without a sandblaster- kinda wish I had one though...
