Yeti Pipe #13- Blackreach

Post by The Smoking Yeti »

Here goes- this bad boy is another experiment in partial rustication. I tried to take advantage of the sharp panelling to give me the definition I needed to pull it off. And hey- there's lotsa birds-eye!

Overall I think it looks great, really nice black birdseye! Also I like the partial rustication, not a fan of that in most other cases.

he only thing that comes to my mind is that in the profile pictures it looks a bit weird that the stem is not centred in the shank but a bit lower. But that might not look good IRL I don't know. The placement of the stem looks better seen from the "mouthpiece side" of the pipe so this piece of critique might just be me seeing the pictures weird=)

Best regards, Jon

Hey, pretty cool! I agree with the off centering of the stem. I'm one to talk though. You'll see why in a few days. :P

Main thing I see is that the stem looks very dull and there are a lot of visible scratches on it. Personally, I kinda wish the bird's eye was more clearly visible. It may be in person but looking at the photos I thought it was all black until I looked a little harder.

I did Meathod :P And Uber, my buffing system just led a communist revolution on my ass... gotta get some crap outta the white diamond wheel so it doesn't leave scratches. And the stain is super bright in direct sunlight.
