My Logo rough draft

Post by The Smoking Yeti »

So I'm in the good graces of a rather gifted creative director- he happens to be my uncle. He has been helping me design a Logo for my fledgling pipe business, and he shot me a rough draft today. I'm in love with my Yeti. I can't wait to see it in final form!

That's an excellent design. It will stamp nicely too. I'm very happy I went with a round stamp and logo. The more simple it is, the better in my opinion.

I'll offer a slightly differing opinion. I think the logo is nice enough, but as is it'll be nearly impossible to stamp. Almost half the surface of the circle would need to be pushed into the wood. Regular text is hard enough to stamp.

AGreed - an awesome design but a very tough stamp.

Yeah, I'm gonna go for a simpler version for stamping. This is for Website etc. use.

If you've got the cash, a laser engraver would handle that for you. The problem of being able to stamp that into the wood is significant, but I'm not even sure where you would find someone to make that stamp for you.

Does anyone know who could make a stamp like that???

I think Argendorf can. Scott Anderson has a really detailed logo stamp similar to Yeti's, and Paul made that one for him. FWIW, Scott hates the stamp because it takes so much force to impress the image it is all but impossible to use. Maybe that's why he doesn't make many pipes?

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but that's going to be a bugger to stamp.
